Swim Ulster Development Gala 2 – 21 January 2017

Swim Ulster are holding their second development gala of the season on Saturday 21 January 2017 at the Omagh Leisure Complex, Mountfield Road in Omagh.

As with the previous development gala, swimmers competing in Individual Medley events at this gala will be required to streamline, hips past the flags and swim legal strokes in order to get their proficiency certificates.

Swim Ireland Christmas Cracker Gala – 11 December 2016

Swim Ireland held their annual Christmas Cracker Gala on Sunday 11 December 2016 in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin.  This gala was intended for novice swimmers aged between 7 and 12 years old.

Two swimmers attended this gala from Breifne Swim Club, Ben Tully and Sean Hourihane.

 

Ben swam four events, 50M Butterfly, 100M IM, 50M Freestyle and 50M Backstroke.  Ben achieved a personal best time in two of these events, 50M Butterfly and 100M IM.

Sean swam in two events, 50M Breaststroke and 50M Backstroke gaining a personal best time in the 50M Breaststroke.

Leinster Graded Gala – 15 January 2017

Swim Leinster are holding a graded gala at the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown on Sunday 15 January 2017.

As with the previous graded gala, Swim Leinster are not issuing wrist bands to each swimmer according to which grade their time relates to.

Please note that swimmers with Grade 1 times or “faster than times” on the meet information are not eligible to enter this gala.

Ards Junior Open Christmas Meet – 10 December 2016

Ards Swimming Club held a Junior Open Gala on Saturday 10 December 2016 in Newtownards Leisure Centre in Newtownards.  This gala was for swimmers aged 12 and under.

Breifne Swim Club had three young swimmers who attended this gala.

Ella Maguire swam in five events and achieved personal best times in three of those.  The PB’s were obtained in 25M Breaststroke, 25M Butterfly and 25M Freestyle.

Maia Smith swam in three events, where she gained personal best times in two of those.  Those times were gained in the 100M Butterfly and 100M Freestyle.

Louis Maguire swam in five events, where he gained three personal best times.  These were achieved in the 100M Butterfly, 100M Freestyle and 200M IM.  Louis also obtained four gold medals in 100M IM, 100M Backstroke, 100M Butterfly, 200M IM.  He also achieved a silver medal in the 100M Freestyle.  Louis also achieved an Ulster Age Group qualifying time in the 200M IM.
